All in ONE path

Medicare Part C

Medicare Advantage in Mississippi—also known as Medicare Part C—is an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare. These plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and often include extra benefits like dental coverage, vision, and even free gym memberships.

If you’ve heard friends talk about having a $0 premium, getting money towards dental procedures, or staying active through a fitness program, there’s a good chance they’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan.

In Mississippi, most Medicare Advantage plans simplify your coverage by bundling hospital, medical, and prescription drug benefits into one convenient plan. Many Mississippians also appreciate the potential savings. Studies show that over a 20-year time horizon, people enrolled in Medicare Advantage spend less than those with a Medicare Supplement when combining premiums and out-of-pocket expenses.

Of course, every plan comes with trade-offs. We believe in full transparency—so we’ll walk you through what’s covered, what’s not, and what to consider when choosing a Medicare Advantage Plan in Mississippi that fits your life.

What are the differences?

  • HMO

HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) is a network of physicians which plans use to determine who their member can see. HMOs require members to choose a primary care provider and may require referrals to see any specialists. Often, HMOs offer lower copays and out-of-pocket expenses.

  • PPO

PPO (Preferred Provider Orgranization) also uses a network of doctors to provide care to the members of a specific plan. However, with a PPO plan, members can visit both in-network and out-of-network providers. Members of PPO plans pay higher copays and in exchange usually are not required to have a referral for specialists.
